Windows Vista

It’s very irritating and frustrating when you’re in the middle of downloading your favorite music, videos or photos and it seems that the job of finishing it is uncertain because of its turtle-like pace of loading. The same way when you’re browsing your favorite websites and the loading process is eating a lot of your precious time. It really sucks and losing your temper is unavoidable. Well, a little research and some trial-and-errors made me discover how to enhance the speed of my Vista in downloading files as well as browsing different websites.

Just follow the following simple steps and find it for yourself the result:

1. Press Start> All Programs> Accessories.
2. Right-click Command Prompt under Accessories.
3. Type netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted.
4. Close window and reboot your computer to save the changes that you made.

(Tip: You can highlight this command and press Ctrl-C to copy on the clipboard and Paste it at the command prompt.)

If for whatever reason that you want to undo the above setting, just type at the command prompt netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal. This will put your setting back to its original state.
